From 08 June 2022, Vaccination is NOT a requirement for entry into Korea.

You MUST have a K-ETA or Visa

Travelers who are entering Korea for activities allowed under C-3 visa (i.e tourism, business meetings, short-term study, family visit) may apply for K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization) if they are from a country eligible for K-ETA. Travelers who are not eligible to apply for K-ETA, whose purpose of visit is not covered by K-ETA or whose K-ETA application is denied may apply for visa.

Who should apply for K-ETA?
Nationals from countries that have visa-waiver or visa-free agreement with Korea and whose purpose of visit is tourism, business, discussions, conferences, short-term study with stay below 90 days...etc.

When to apply:At least one (1) month before departure to avoid unnecessary inconvenience. ​

Nationals who are not eligible for K-ETA, whose K-ETA application is denied or whose purpose of visit is not covered under K-ETA.

In celebration of ‘Visit Korea Year (2023~2024)’, K-ETA will be temporarily exempted for 22 countries/regions from 01 April 2023 to 31 December 2024 (KST).


  • List of 22 countries/regions eligible for temporary exemption of K-ETA:
    - Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Macao, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, UK, US (including Guam).


  • Starting from July 3, 2023, K-ETA requirement will be exempted for ages 17 years old and under, and 65 years old and above.
    - Travelers who wish to receive benefits from K-ETA application, such as not having to submit an arrival card upon entry, may apply for K-ETA, and in this case, the application fee will be charged.


  • Expansion of K-ETA validity from 2 years → to 3 years (as of July 3, 2023)
    - The validity period of K-ETA will be expanded to 3 years for applicants who apply after 00 hours, July 3, 2023 (Korea Standard Time)
